Overview
Throughout the experience, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of teaching with and using Google Docs in a variety of ways. You will complete 4 performances throughout the experience. Each pertains to a different area of your role in exploring classroom usage of the Google Docs tool. You will have a variety of methods to demonstrate mastery of the content.
Performance 1- RESOURCE REPORT (Essay). Write a short review of an online article that is related to using Google Docs in the classroom. Your report should describe and critique the resource (2-3 pages) and discuss how you might use it to promote the development of students with this technology.
Performance 2- SINGLE CASE STUDY. (Individual investigation and analysis). Prepare a 5-10 page paper on how you might make use of Google Docs in your classroom. Cite specific needs of students or you as a teacher, current practices (e.g. collaboration on work, etc.), and what needs exist. What strategies and goals might you develop for your classroom to successfully use this technology? Show clearly that you are using ideas gained from the readings and the credential program in developing your paper by citing relevant readings and lectures.
Performance 3- TECHNOLOGY BLOG AND DISCUSSION FORUM - Access the blog found under the Blogs & Discussions tab. Visit a minimum of three of the blog topics, and respond to their questions. Be sure to then respond to three other peers over three separate times (3:3:3 method!!).
Performance 4- CREDENTIAL PROGRAM FINAL EXAMINATION - Professionals will complete a final examination for the credential program, comprised of task-oriented and skills-based questions that will assess your knowledge of using the Google Docs technology. This examination will be delivered online.
